The Ohio First District Court of Appeals upheld a decision that will continue to disallow public access to Cincinnati ’s multiple listings service. The MLS Web Site, operated by the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors, was available to the public up until 2004 when the group closed shop.
A group of real estate agents in the Cincinnati area hoped the courts would reverse the prior ruling but were denied when a panel of judges let stand the May 2005 decision. The court ruled that the Board of Realtors is within rights by denying access to the MLS.
The multiple listings service (MLS) is computer-based service that provides real estate agents detailed listings of most homes currently on the market.
