When is the best time to relocate to the Greater Cincinnati area? While there is no formula for this question, the best answer might be, “When you are ready!” There are a lot of factors home buyers look at when planning a move. Some common considerations include, the best time of year to buy as well as school and family issues.
Is there a best time to buy?
There really is no “best” time to buy in terms of price for home buyers. The market drives home prices, not the weather. It may be true that there are more people looking in the spring and summer, but many are doing just that –looking. You may have a little more competition in the warmer months but you may also have more of a selection. But all of this is marginal. If you need to buy a home during a Cincinnati winter, you can rest assured, that there is someone that needs to sell too. You probably will not save any money by planning your home purchase to occur during a particular time of year.
What about the kids?
If you have school age children, they are likely the first thing that comes to mind when considering a move or relocation. What about their friends? Will the schools be as good as or better than where the go now? All of these are valid questions and the one key question you will be asking is, “When is the best time for kids to move?” If you have the luxury to choose, many will opt to wait for the school year to end while others may like to get their kids in at the end of the year so they will not be strangers come the first day of school. The best answer is, you know your family and your situation and there is no right or wrong answer.
